I have to admit, I have a fabric addiction

And to be honest, I don't want to give any of this up! I really have a craft addiction but in the last year, it has multiplied more than I realized. This morning, the teenage daughter and I spent it folding, and folding, and even more folding of material that has been coming in this past week or was sitting here waiting to be folded from before vacation.

To be honest, I had gotten lazy and quit folding for awhile. Been just stuffing fabric here and there. This is the problem with fabric co-ops, lol. You buy the material then have to wait 3-4 months to get the fabric. Well, I tend to make a weekly (if not more) visit to good ol' Wal~Mart and the fabric there. Not to mention the fact that people that I know mention that they want this or that, so I get material for that and this and then it gets lost in the shuffle and next thing I know.... More fabric is sitting around the workshop waiting to be created into some masterpiece! lol

But really, look at all this material that is STUFFED in my cabinets. When we went to Wal~Mart this afternoon, I priced a pantry cabinet and will talk to Mr. Brown tonight about if I can get it. Word is there is a UPS box in transit to here, not to mention the UPS box that is filling up at my friend's house with my co-op fabric!

An online friend refers to herself as a fabric whore.... Wonder what she would call me?

This is just a few pictures of what still has to be stowed away!

Wednesday Funny~ Things I learned coming home from Vacation

1. Make sure that it is known that if the satalite or cable is cut while you are gone, that it be fixed BEFORE you come with four moody kids! ~ My dad did a nice thing for my hubby while we were gone, he cut the grass, but he also cut the wire for the satalite (in an area that DOESN'T get cut) and hadn't fixed it. We also think that something happened to the dish itself since we found only one cut wire and none of the other three lines are working either!

2. Make sure that you leave a key for the car so that someone can come over and start it every couple of days. ~ Finding out at 5:30 am this morning that hubby's Ion's battery is dead is not a great way to start the morning! Poor hubby was NOT having a good morning.

3. If you have pets, especially shedding ones and you want to go away for longer than a few days..... BOARD them! ~ We have two dogs and normally two cats. I overfilled the vaccum cleaner when I went to clean up about a 10' x 10' area of my carpet yesterday evening with dog and cat fur. Then it took about 8 pieces of lint roller to get the cat hair off my favorite director's chair in the playroom. Not to mention the dogs got into the trash that was created by my aunt FEEDING them and appairently the cat decided to use the house as her litterpan.

4. Living in the south, high temperatures and two weeks vacation means that the palmetto bugs and roaches want to take up residence in your bathrooms! We made sure that everything was picked up in the bathrooms, clean, and doors closed to keep out the animals before we left. Apparently, the bugs liked it!

5. Leaky roofs get worse when you leave. And make for grumpy hubbys too. I don't blame him for being upset, I was too, but it put a damper on the happy to be home mood I had going coming home.

6. Make sure that family knows that if they want to come in and clean up any messes that were made while you were gone, it would be AWESOME! We didn't have a spotless house when we left, but the mess that was here when we left is horrible. I am too tired to clean, but I have to. (remember that floor? Well, the big dog likes to sleep on the furniture!)

I guess that's about it. I am glad that the toilet's didn't overflow while we were gone, but we can tell that things are different then what we left!

I hope to get some new things going here soon, so stay tuned! I got loads of ideas while gone and can't wait to jump right in!

After Last Night's Interview.......

I guess I should do a little more explaining about my "Zoo", lol. The picture was taken last November. The little ones were NOT happy to say the least!

In our family, the kids all have animal names and I have decided that I will use those names online to protect the "innocent". (If you KNOW my kids, they are all but innocent, let me tell you!) Hubby started this tradition with his first kids. The animal name would come from his first impressions of the said child, or shortly after. I will explain them all.

Our oldest is "Mouse". His Grandma named him that when he was born and it stuck. Mouse can be found at the local chicken place where he lives as one of the assistant managers. He's about to celebrate his first anniversary of being a high school graduate!

The second oldest is "Turtle." This is because when he was born, he stretched his neck out like a turtle. Turtle is finishing up his first year of high school and ROTC. He hopes to go in the military, like his father, uncles and grandpa before him, when he gets out.... Something about being a sniper I think..... Still sticking that head out!

My oldest is "donkey." She got stuck with this name since she loved to sound like Donkey from Shrek. She loves waffles and asking "Are we there yet?" You can find her in a dance studio on Thursday nights or B days at school. She doesn't ACT so much like donkey anymore, but we love to tease her with the name. I went so far as to make sure that we got a donkey stuffed animal when we bought a copy of "Shrek 2"!

"Ducky" was hubby's last child with the ex. When he was born, me made duck sounds..... Sadly, he is no longer with the family on earth, but in spirit. There are little duck things all throughout the house and family to keep him with us..

"Monkey" is just that, a monkey! His dad, my ex, gave him one the day he was born and he has acted like one ever since! He can't keep still for very long and is currently in band, playing the drums no less, at school. Last three years in elementary, it was the violin..... That wasn't good enough for middle school..... Next year, he says it's band AND baseball. We will see.

Our little girl is "chipmunk". My mom thought that we were crazy (well we are but not for this reason!) to call her that until she saw chipmunk in action! That girl can cram some food in her mouth and not choke! She also likes to bury stuff all over.

Then we come to the "cheetah"! What are cheetah's known for? Being fast! He doesn't walk, he runs. He climbs. He's only 18 months old and can catch a ball pretty well! Right now, one of his favorite words is "Momma". Now if you have ever seen "Family Guy", think of the episode where Lois saved Stewy and he called momma over and over... That's Cheetah right now!

Well, now you know the story! So when you hear about the ZOO, you will know who I am talking about!

Funny time, err farm?

Once again in the Brown house, the littlest of the bunch had some laughs and we caught it in pictures.

The weekend was to be the first real chance that we have had to flip two whole rooms around in the house: take the gameroom out of the HUGE living space that it had been in for two years and switch it to the more quaint, and much smaller room that we have been calling the "livingroom".

What this consisted of was all morning Saturday, cleaning the floor of the junk the whole family had been trying to harvest in the gameroom and moving the buffet that we use as a bar. Since there was no longer going to be bookshelves nearby to hold the glassware, a shelf was in order and off to the store to buy the necessities (ie wood to make the thing) by the end of the night, we had the shelves put together, stained and hung.

Sunday morning found us in the position to move the entertainment centers and various electrical items. I am happy to say that neither me nor my hubby got irrate with each other over the problems that arrised as we were trying to figure out how all this was going to work out.

We finished up with the centers and headed over to my parents (ummm, that's next door) and had a delightful dinner where my youngest decided that food was not for her and the youngest son decided that silkie terriers look better with food on TOP instead of inside.

Monday is when the REAL fun with the little happened. As the hubby and I are trying to get the two rooms in working order (we are selling the couch and loveseat so until those are gone, the room will not be put together correctly and the kids are going to flip when they find out that they will have to sit on the FLOOR to play games), when the littlest ones find "glasses".

All I can say is.......... ENJOY!
