Manic Mondays Indeed!

Looking at my blog posts, I have been not keeping up like my normal self. Life and work hit all of a sudden, not to mention the fact that last week, my family of six, my parents, sister, grandma and her good friend, took a five day vacation to visit Orlando and Disney World. As you can see, my son is not afraid to get into the magic of Disney! He had fun in Epcot getting to be one of the street performers in Japan.

Now, I am back home. Going crazy trying to get back into the swing of things. Dance classes, son wants to start wrestling and I have a big craft show coming up on Hilton Head on the 15th.

Add to that, I am venturing into eBay groups and have a few launches that I need to get ready for, and you have one wired seamstress! But I love it and treasure every last stress. I am blessed to be able to stay home and do something that gives me great pleasure, while getting to spend time with all my kids.

Speaking of my loving kids, my chipmunk decided the Monday before we left that her hair was a bit too long and cut into the side of her hair! My mom came to the rescue and fixed it up really nice. She looked like a true Pixie walking around the Magic Kingdom in her mixed matched outfit and fairy wings! As far as she was concerned, she was a fairy, and a beautiful one at that!

Be on the look out for some great holiday shopping sales in the Artfire shops starting soon!

Wednesday Funny~ Things I learned coming home from Vacation

1. Make sure that it is known that if the satalite or cable is cut while you are gone, that it be fixed BEFORE you come with four moody kids! ~ My dad did a nice thing for my hubby while we were gone, he cut the grass, but he also cut the wire for the satalite (in an area that DOESN'T get cut) and hadn't fixed it. We also think that something happened to the dish itself since we found only one cut wire and none of the other three lines are working either!

2. Make sure that you leave a key for the car so that someone can come over and start it every couple of days. ~ Finding out at 5:30 am this morning that hubby's Ion's battery is dead is not a great way to start the morning! Poor hubby was NOT having a good morning.

3. If you have pets, especially shedding ones and you want to go away for longer than a few days..... BOARD them! ~ We have two dogs and normally two cats. I overfilled the vaccum cleaner when I went to clean up about a 10' x 10' area of my carpet yesterday evening with dog and cat fur. Then it took about 8 pieces of lint roller to get the cat hair off my favorite director's chair in the playroom. Not to mention the dogs got into the trash that was created by my aunt FEEDING them and appairently the cat decided to use the house as her litterpan.

4. Living in the south, high temperatures and two weeks vacation means that the palmetto bugs and roaches want to take up residence in your bathrooms! We made sure that everything was picked up in the bathrooms, clean, and doors closed to keep out the animals before we left. Apparently, the bugs liked it!

5. Leaky roofs get worse when you leave. And make for grumpy hubbys too. I don't blame him for being upset, I was too, but it put a damper on the happy to be home mood I had going coming home.

6. Make sure that family knows that if they want to come in and clean up any messes that were made while you were gone, it would be AWESOME! We didn't have a spotless house when we left, but the mess that was here when we left is horrible. I am too tired to clean, but I have to. (remember that floor? Well, the big dog likes to sleep on the furniture!)

I guess that's about it. I am glad that the toilet's didn't overflow while we were gone, but we can tell that things are different then what we left!

I hope to get some new things going here soon, so stay tuned! I got loads of ideas while gone and can't wait to jump right in!

Checking in from the Tail-End of my Vaca!

The past two weeks have just flown by, more than I ever thought possible. Upstairs, everyone is getting prepared for the big family picnic that will be starting soon. It's not all the nieces and nephews, but both of DH brother's and wives will be here!

My IL have made sure that we have all stayed pretty busy while here. There is so much stuff to do locally or just an hour drive away. Got to see a "castle" built by one man since the 1960's (all stone and ironwork and basically just a shell).

Got to see Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs (well the arcade and a few shops).

Got to go to Spring Spree and see some great things going on locally for the children of the area.

Got to see my favorite MLB team play. The scariest part was during batting practice, when a baby was down by the right fowl line and got knocked by a ball that bounced off the arm of the girl that was holding him. Her arm took the brunt of the speed of the ball, but it made me sick to my stomach to see that baby hurt. A little bit later, she came out with her arm wrapped with ice and the baby was up top safe in his stroller. This is one reason that chipmunk and cheetah stayed with Grandma that day!

Got to help my in laws clean up their backyard, trimming trees and setting post to redo the fence.

Took the kids to a few malls. The kids really enjoyed themselves and it was nice to get out and find a few things that we can't find back home.

Got to go up to Cripple Creek to the Donkey Derby. We didn't get to see the derby, but the kids got to see a donkey, we got to ride a train to see some more the mountain and hear stories (like did you know that the TV show "Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman" was based on the first female doctor in Cripple Creek?)

Today is the family picnic/barbecue.

Anyway, we leave early Tuesday morning for home. I have enjoyed this vacation very much, but I also look forward to being able to get busy in the sweatshop too! I have loads of ideas for all that yummy fabric waiting for me back home!

Hopefully, the economy will be better and I will make some more sales!

Want something for July 4th?

Way adorable 3-piece outfit?

Or a pretty peasant dress?

An upcoming boy ensemble?

Well, if you want a Stitch'N Love original, you need to hurry to order it! While the American special holiday is nearly three weeks away, Stitch'N Love is going on vacation starting on the 16th!

That's right! We are packing up the family: six kids and the two parents, and loading up on a plane to travel from SC to CO!!!!! Both shops will still be taking orders, but if you want it completed and shipped for the holiday weekend, custom orders need to be processed by this Wednesday, June 10th so that I have time to fit it in between the end of school activities, dance recital, FRG meeting and packing! Yikes, that is a lot to deal with.

Anyway, custom orders placed by Wednesday, June 10th and inStock items placed by Monday, June 15th will be shipped out by Tuesday, June 16th. Any orders placed June16th - June30th will not be shipped or started til July 1st.

There is nothing I would love more than to come home to a slew of orders to be filled! You know mom's don't ever REALLY get a vacation, but it's at least a vacation from home!

Don't forget about the BEAT the ECONOMY sales going on in my shops. Flat rate shipping on almost everything in my Etsy shop and 20% off EVERYTHING in my Artfire!
