I DID it! I DID it!!!!!!

I have been toying with the thought of.... when does a design (clothing) become your own? When you change one thing? Two? I mean, I know that there are fabric designers that create the pictures that are put on the fabric and sold by the bolt. Then there are pattern designers that come up with an outfit and make a pattern to make the outfit.... But the person that takes the fabric ~ sees and outfit ~ then finds a pattern to bring the outfit to life and creates that outfit is also, by definition, a designer as well.

Right?

Well, today, I went farther than that! I took parts and pieces from several patterns, and used my imagination, or brain on other parts, and created an outfit!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think it's horrible for a first attempt, and I already know how I am going to change it around for the next one that I do, but all in all. I am happy with what I made.

Now if I could just figure out how to get in with the ebay boutique groups. I hear so much about them. Some have found me on Facebook, but I really think that is more to be a buyer even though I don't buy clothes on ebay.... I make them!

It felt great to be creating again. It'd been about two weeks since I sat at the sewing machine and created an outfit. I have a lot more to create in the next three weeks too. On April 18th, I am going to be in my first festival craft show. Talk about scary! lol At least it's here, local. I hope that a lot of my "friends" in town come and help me with sales!

Oh freak, Christie, I can go on and on about how amazingly talented you are. You need to know this: I am commissioning you for Dakin's Halloween outfit again this year. As soon as I know what it's going to be I'll let you know....

Beautiful outfit. You go from strength to strength.
